Personally I think that college is expense but the government should not help with the price. This is because this could change everything. If the government helped pay for college they could influence how the school works. This could be the hiring of the teachers to what the school teaches. This could essentially create a common core for college which seems ridiculous. Another reason why the government shouldn't help pay for college is we really wouldn't be saving money. This is because with the government helping to pay for college tuition peoples taxes will go up. This means we wouldn't be saving money but just spending it in another place. What do you think? Should the government help pay for college? Is college too expensive?

Question, is the government ‘helping’ by loaning the money or providing it kind of like a scholarship?
ReplyDeleteThere is no doubt in my mind that college is overpriced. I compare the thirteen years of kindergarten through twelfth grade to the four years in college, wondering what makes it so much more special to have to pay thousands of dollars to receive an education that you just received freely for thirteen years. The ridiculous price tag on this type of education makes me curious on how many students would have continued their education through college if it were free or affordable.
