Too much work

I was enjoying my vacation, slightly worried about my summer work when this idea came to my head. I don’t know if I’m speaking for myself when i say this but, I don’t like having to worry about school during my vacation. Summer homework shouldn’t be a thing. I looked this debate up and it seems many people agree with me. In fact 80% of the people who read the debate agree with me. Summer is a time when students should be getting a break from all the books and a chance to spend time with their family on a nice vacation. Recently I went on a vacation for a big part of my summer and I chose not to do any work but read because i didn’t want tostay indoors working. So due to some summer homework I wasn’t able to enjoy my vacation without worrying about how little time I’ll have to do the work when I get back home. I’m not writing this to bash this assignment but I felt like if we get a couple months away from school, no part of school should be involved. For me personally I feel like my summer was ruined because of summer work that I had to do. I may just be over exaggerating but I’ve never been a fan of summer work because I once did a summer assignment dor Spanish class and some students turned the work in weeks into the school year and still got full credit. The majority of the students copied the assignment as well. This instance made me feel like there wasn’t much importance in summer homework but maybe it’s just me.

    I understand you and I agree that summer homework does become a big hassle especially during the summer. I don't enjoy it either, but I understand why they give it to us. I tend to relax during summer too much and then forget that I have homework to do. It's just something we have to put up with in life.

    Summer homework is a bad idea because students should be able to relax during their summer, if you do not have to go to summer school you should not have to worry about having to turn in an assignment before school even starts. We have only three months of summer and nine months of school, yet we still have to worry about school during our shorter break? Students have other worries during summer like jobs, sports, etc., we should be focusing on experiencing life not reading about it.
