complaint to Department of education

Our education is based off of standards and learning is obtained by assignments to keep students on track. It’s also a way to grade and report how knowledge and skilled they are as they progress into each section. A recent form of standards in education system is called common core. This only affects the US and tests grades k-12 on English and mathematics.
Common core was imputed to prepare high school students who want to take their learning into the college level can. Many complain or state that the basis of high school math has been complicated or college level. Another reason why our English and math has been intricate is to make the youth more sharp-witted to influence the push of more high tech inventions being developed. The youth regulates the future.
The idea of tougher tests is an ignorant thought in my opinion. First off, your setting children up for failure. Their tests determine their grade, and their grades determine how they will be able to thrive throughout society. Secondly, looking into the future, if the standards were tweaked to implement more complex tests, then there won’t be an in-between level of success among a class of students and only the high leveled ones will prosper. It will then be obvious that the system is completely unfair because it is permitting an unfair advantage.
The thought of having more technology makes my mind go blank. Technology will benefit those who want to use it. No matter how much we push or take away, there will always be a group who uses it wrongfully. Technology is a great way to guide kids to have the desire to be interested and involved in activities, however, at the end of the day it will come time where a graphing calculator and pencil will need to be in their hands. Therefore babying kids with technology will cause them to be more reliant on it so I don’t think it should be removed or added on to the amount that we have.

There is only 1 proposal I ask the department of education. Allow students to take classes that will relate to their choice of major. For example, I’m not an English person, I struggle with this subject the most in terms of constructing essays and analysis questions. The field I want to work in focuses more on science and math skills, rather than English based work. I understand that they want us to explore our options, but what about us that already have a decision? Do any of you have or know where u want to go or do and feel like your wasting your time? When the system changes why don’t we ever have a voice to decide what is best for us?  We know the flaws in our system, and the department of education has the audacity to choose what we should learn even though they haven’t been to school in many years and we allow them to continue to make changes.
