AF: Dear Tech Support

Hi Kids:

In years gone-by, I have bypassed the student "s.busd.k12.ca.us" email address because it was glitchy...it worked for some people but not for everyone.  Who knows why?  I have spoken to the tech support guys up at the district office about this in the past.  The district does put blocks on lots of social media, so I assumed that they were interpreting Blogger.com as a potential danger zone, but that doesn't seem to explain why SOME people could use it, and others could not.

Anyway, this morning I've been working with kids who are trying to get up on the blog, and we seem to be having the same problem.  Two of your peers DID receive their blog invites through the school email account, but the other five used their "personal" gmail account.

Right now, I have seven kids on the blog, and 12 open invitations that have not been responded to. However, several of those kids with open invitations are telling me via email that they have not received their invite.  MOST of these are using the school email suffix, but not all.  I can draw no conclusions about why this works for some, but not for others.

I will email our BUSD tech support but first I am going to go play golf with my daughter and her dad, and hope that the Internet fairies will resolve all of this in my absence.  I'll be back in the late afternoon or early evening.

It is June.  You kids are all early.  Don't fret.  I will be getting email requests for the blog well into August, believe me.

  1. Hello class! I had this same problem and I found the invitation in my spam folder on my gmail. Hope this helps!
